Can I coat my damp walls with aluminum foil?

Covering damp walls with aluminum foil is not a long-term solution. You are clogging up the moisture problem rather than thoroughly addressing the cause. When aluminum foil is installed, moisture will try to rise above the foil. After a while, the rising damp becomes visible again. Painting, wallpapering, placing foil ... has no long-term effect.
